If you were at WIFF last week, you probably saw an Algonquin film crew hard at work. You might want to check out the mini-doc that was made from that footage here.

Justin Nalepa's graceful short film, Swan Song, was the second of the Algonquin Shorts to be shown at WIFF 2012, and what a treat. It's a brief look at the Royal Swan program in Ottawa, begun in 1967 with a gift of swans from the Queen, and possibly in its last year due to funding pressures. Exceptionally beautiful in its visuals, the film has a bittersweet tone that seems to match - and the interviews with the very compelling manager of the program continue in this vein. Great work, Justin! Thank you. If you were at WIFF last week, you probably saw an Algonquin film crew hard at work. You might want to check out the mini-doc that was made from that footage here.
